Whether it's authored by a Latinx author, about a Latinx protagonist, or set in a Latinx community, what are your favorite Latinx books?
This year I've loved Angie Cruz's "Dominicana" and Julia Alvarez's "The Cemetery of Untold Stories". If you have any favorite authors as well I'd love to know!
I haven't been doing any person reading in a while, but I'll be reading Javier Zamora's Solito soon.
I've been reading Borderlands/La Frontera by Gloria Anzaldúa because her work is always relevant to my lived experience. Also browsing her interviews and anthologies more.
I'm currently reading 'Las Madres' by Esmeralda Santiago, one of my favorite Latinx authors. 🌺She always creates a bridge between Puerto Ricans in the diaspora and the ones on the island with her stories. I'm also super into audiobooks right now, so I'm "reading/listening" to 'The Last Cuentista' by Dona Barba Higuera. My next read is 'The Pain We Carry' by Natalie Gutierrez
🌺I'm currently reading "Anita de Monte Laughs Last" by Xochitl Gonzalez! I have Mexican Gothic as my next read! 🌺
