Position Overview:
As part of the Education and Outreach Department, the Communications Manager will oversee LHC’s efforts to expand awareness, engage key stakeholders, and build partnerships to advance our work. You will develop and implement innovative communications and marketing strategies that resonate with diverse audiences across multiple platforms.
In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Director and report to the Director of Education and Outreach to shape LHC’S brand identity, messaging, and public presence. The Communications Manager will oversee all communication and marketing activities, oversee contractors and the Design and Social Media Coordinator. The Manager will coordinate all communication and marketing activities, manage budgets, oversee contractors, and serve as an advisor on communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy that integrates bilingual communications and marketing to advance LHC’s mission and goals.
Oversee the creation of external facing bilingual content, including press releases, speeches, marketing campaigns and materials, blog posts, social media, and website updates.
Ensure alignment of bilingual messaging, tone, and visual and brand identity across all platforms and materials.
Lead cross-departmental collaboration to develop and execute bilingual campaigns that support events, programs, and organizational goals.
Track and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of communication and marketing efforts, reporting insights to the Executive Director and Board.
Public Relations/External Affairs
Serve as LHC's primary press contact, drafting bilingual media materials such as press releases, advisories, talking points for Executive Director, and letters to the editor.
Conduct regular media monitoring to stay informed of relevant coverage.
Maintain and manage an inventory of internal and external communication tools, ensuring consistent messaging and brand identity.
Support all aspects of community and stakeholder outreach.
Digital Communications
Oversee LHC's digital presence, including maintaining the website, email communications, and digital newsletters.
Collaboratively establish LHC’s bilingual style and branding guide
Manage digital organizing strategies, monitor social media engagement, and analyze performance metrics to optimize content.
Maintain the visual brand identity and enforce usage guidelines across all platforms.
Team Management
Manage and mentor the Bilingual Communications Outreach Coordinator.
What You Bring
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, with experience in communications in both languages.
5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
Proven success in developing and executing strategic communications plans.
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats and platforms.
Experience creating content for a variety of audiences and communication channels, including social media.
Strong media relations skills and a track record of building relationships with key stakeholders.
Passion for Latinx heritage and an understanding of issues facing Latinx communities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with content management systems and social media platforms preferred.

LHC maintains a 40-hour work week, with one hour of paid lunch, with most of our team working Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
